Sweden and Poland have met many times over the years, but it's the Swedes who have held a recent dominance in the fixture. Check out our full betting preview for the latest team news, match odds and betting predictions.
Sweden 🇸🇪 Team News
This is Swedens sixth consecutive European Championship finals appearance. The Swedes qualified for Euro 2020 having finished runners-up to Spain in Group F. They picked up 21 points along the way, with their record reading P10 W6 D3 L1. Their sole qualifying defeat was a 3-0 loss away to Spain in Madrid.
Key Player: Robin Olsen
Swedens no1 goalkeeper will be busy against this Spanish side. If the Swedes are to get anything from this game it will be because of Robin Olsen. Currently on loan from Roma at Premier League side Everton, he's not had as much first-team football as he would have hoped for, having to settle for a place on the bench as Carlo Ancelotti's back up for Jordan Pickford.
Poland 🇵🇱 Team News
Poland are making their fourth successive appearance in a European Championship finals. The Poles registered their first victory in the finals stage of the competition in 2016. Coached by Jerzy Brzęczek, Poland qualified for these finals in fine style, finishing six points clear at the top of Group G (P10 W8 D1 L1). They sole defeat coming at the hands of Slovenia in September 2019, this was Polands only defeat in their last 18 European Championship matches.
Key Player: Robert Lewandowski
Lewandowski is Poland's most-capped player and all-time leading goalscorer. He is undoubtably one of the best strikers in the world today and continues to lead the line for German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The Poles have quality in different areas of the pitch but Lewandowski is on a different level when compared to some of his fellow countrymen.
Sweden v Poland Head to Head
These two sides have met no less than 27 times over the years. Sweden have triumphed in 14 of those encounters, including all of the last five.
Sweden v Poland Match Prediction
Sweden have dominated the recent history in this fixture, but the most recent encounter was in 2004. This could be a tight affair, and much will depend on the position in the group.
